• Tender and swollen breasts

Breast tenderness is one of the early pregnancy signs. It can be noticed as soon as 1 to 2 weeks after conceiving. During pregnancy, some women complain of soreness of the breasts. The breasts may also be sensitive or tender to touch and heavier than normal.
Breast tenderness during pregnancy is due to the increase in the level of progesterone.
Premenstrual syndrome is one of the principal causes of tender and swollen breasts. Premenstrual syndrome comprises the physical and emotional changes that occur one or two weeks before the onset of a woman's period. The premenstrual symptoms are not unique as they vary amongst women.
The symptoms include

• Breast tenderness
• Acne
• Abdominal bloating
• Feeling of tiredness
• Irritability
• Mood changes
• Abdominal pain
• Sore breast
• Anxiety
• Sadness etc

• Abdominal cramps

Several factors can lead to cramps in the abdomen. They include
Ovulation cramps
Ovulation is the release of a mature egg from the ovary into the fallopian tube. During ovulation, mild abdominal cramps may occur. Though some women may not notice the pains, a few, however, have cramps during ovulation.
If you have sexual intercourse during your ovulation period, fertilization may occur. The period around ovulation if called fertile period and the chances of getting pregnant are high. Other days in your menstrual cycle that you are unlikely to get pregnant are called safe period.
The fertilized egg implants in the uterus, and this can cause cramps in the lower abdomen. The abdominal cramps due to implantation are one of the early pregnancy signs.
During implantation, mild spotting occurs but should be differentiated from an irregular period. Brown mucus discharge is observed during this period also, and it is normal during ovulation and implantation.
